APPPI Open Seminar - Water & Sanitation PPPs in Japan

On February 25th, APPPI will hosted an open seminar on Water PPP. Japanese government has launched the concept of "Water PPP" in 2023 revision of PPP/PFI promotion action plan, and has made its application a requirement for redevelopment subsidy on sewer pipes and industrial water. Under these circumstances, many municipalities are conducting studies of PPP applicability in water supply, sewage, and industrial water. In this session, we welcomed Mr. Hiroyuki Kato, Associate professor of the University of Tokyo as a guest speaker. Prof. Kato gave an overview of water PPPs and the efforts being made to study them in various regions.
